### **Our Cryo-EM Facility**

**Sample Preparation Suite**

Our humidity-controlled clean room is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to ensure reproducible and high-quality sample prep:

**Vitrobot Mark IV™** – Automated vitrification for consistent plunge freezing  
**PELCO easiGlow™** – Glow discharge system for EM grid surface preparation  
**Cryo-EM Grid Clipping Station** – For clipping grids into autoloader-compatible cartridges  
**Autoloader Cassette Transfer Station** – Enables secure loading of autogrids into microscopes

 

**Microscopy Platform**

**Thermo Fisher Glacios 2 Cryo-TEM (200 kV)**  
Equipped with:  
**Falcon 4i**  **Direct Electron Detector** for high-resolution imaging  
**Autoloader system** for efficient, automated grid handling  
**Spicer SC24** magnetic field canceling system  
Mounted on an **anti-vibration floating slab** to ensure optimal image quality

 

**Data Acquisition & Processing**

We use industry-leading software to streamline alignment, data capture, and image processing:

**EPU** – Automated data collection  
**MiCo** – Microscope alignment and control  
**Relion** or **CryoSPARC**– Image processing and data management

## Our Team Has The Right Experience For Your Success

Our team members, Dr. Andrea Vaiana and Dr. Cristina Iancu, have a combined experience in cryo-EM of over 15 years. They worked with a variety of biological samples including proteins (varying in size from 70 KDa to 13 MDa), liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, virus-like particles, organelle-like particles, and whole bacterial cells.
