Sample Preparation Suite
Our humidity-controlled clean room is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to ensure reproducible and high-quality sample prep:
Vitrobot Mark IV™ – Automated vitrification for consistent plunge freezing
PELCO easiGlow™ – Glow discharge system for EM grid surface preparation
Cryo-EM Grid Clipping Station – For clipping grids into autoloader-compatible cartridges
Autoloader Cassette Transfer Station – Enables secure loading of autogrids into microscopes
Microscopy Platform
Thermo Fisher Glacios 2 Cryo-TEM (200 kV)
Equipped with:
Falcon 4i Direct Electron Detector for high-resolution imaging
Autoloader system for efficient, automated grid handling
Spicer SC24 magnetic field canceling system
Mounted on an anti-vibration floating slab to ensure optimal image quality

Our Team Has The Right Experience For Your Success
Our team members, Dr. Andrea Vaiana and Dr. Cristina Iancu, have a combined experience in cryo-EM of over 15 years. They worked with a variety of biological samples including proteins (varying in size from 70 KDa to 13 MDa), liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, virus-like particles, organelle-like particles, and whole bacterial cells.
